Masterplanning Education Estates
Speakers
Dr Patricia del Guayo - Shepheard Epstein Hunter
Will Attlee - LocatED
Gareth Box - IID Architects

Venue: The Building Centre, Store Street, London WC1E 7BT

Time; 7.45 - 10.15am

Many of our education estates are an evolution of buildings that have been constructed, refurbished, adapted and remodelled over time. Master planning provides the opportunity for stakeholders to consider the physical, environmental and educational impact of maintaining an estate at a strategic level. However, trying to coordinate the various stakeholders can prove challenging, particularly when there are conflicting or overlapping aspirations all vying for priority status.

Come and join us as we look to discuss:

  • What makes a good masterplan?
  • How do we successfully incorporate various stakeholder inputs at the appropriate time?
  • How do we balance advice on education policy against aspirations and objectives of a Governing Board or Trust?
  • What do we need from statutory bodies such as Planning and Building Control at masterplan stage?
  • How do we incorporate sustainable and low carbon solutions into the masterplan?
